Do my friends need the app?

No. Only the person who paid uses the Splends app. Everyone else just opens the link in their phone's browser — no install, no account. They tap what they had and pay. That's the whole point.

How does the person who paid get the money?

Guests pay their share straight to the organiser through a regulated payment partner — iDEAL and Tikkie-native in the Netherlands. The organiser watches each payment land on a live board and gets settled, usually within a day or two.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We only use your data to split this one bill and get everyone settled — we never sell it. Card details are handled entirely by our regulated payment partner; Splends never sees them. Read our Privacy policy for the plain-English version.

What does it cost?

Splitting a bill is free. A small per-person fee may apply when guests pay — and it's always shown clearly in their breakdown before they confirm. No subscriptions, no surprises.
